Ma rentrée scolaire

Ma rentrée scolaire - back to school!

Hello and Bonjour!

Looking for a fun and easy to use material for your Core French students? Here you go!

Let's face it: Your Core French students probably didn't have the opportunity to speak or hear any French during the break, maybe not even during lockdown. Will it be hard to reactivate their French? Oh yes, you bet it will be!

So let's use an activity that is easy to prep for you and fun to use for your students when they head back into your French classroom/homeschool. Maybe it is even your first time as a French Core teacher and you don't really know where to start. I got you!

Ma rentrée scolaire can be printed out, stacked, and used as handouts in your classes. You could also send them home if your district chooses to do online teaching. Your students can share some personal information about themselves (birthday, family, hobbies,...) so that you (and other class members) can get to know each other better.

I also included a little summer dictionary (words like bateau, maillot de bain, palmier,..) to teach the students new words and to talk about their summer. They can then use the words in little fun exercises like scrambled letters, drawing, dice game, etc. There is also a page where they can talk about their goals for the next school year.

I really like using this dossier in the beginning of a new school year because it helps me to get to know my Core French students and their needs. That way I can see their level and their foreign language skills, and I can plan my lessons accordingly.

Ma rentrée scolaire can be done when they enter your French classroom and give them some time to settle - and some time for you to prepare the classroom, for example. ;-)

I like keeping the handouts and give them back to my students at the end of my school year. It's a nice way to reflect about their goals and their achievements.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!
